This is my HomeLab server. It’s built around a Super Micro x79 motherboard and a E5-2690v2 processor with128GB of DDR3 ECC RAM. I currently am running Proxmox for a hypervisor and have many virtual machines and Containers running. I passed a LSI HBA card from Proxmox to a TrueNAS VM so that it could have direct access to the disks and create a ZFS pool. This has been a game changer for my home lab setup.
I also have several other VMs running on Proxmox, like a Plex VM with a PCI Express pass-through TV tuner card. This allows me to watch live TV directly on my Plex server. And an Ubuntu VM running Docker with Portainer as an orchestrator, which makes it super easy for me to deploy and manage my Docker containers.
Proxmox also offers a web interface for managing and monitoring your virtual environment, which is super handy. You can access it from any device with a web browser, making it easy to manage your VMs from anywhere. And it supports several different types of storage, so you can choose the one that works best for you.
All in all, Proxmox has been a great addition to my home lab. It’s easy to set up and use, and the ability to pass through hardware directly to VMs has opened up a lot of possibilities for me.
Awesome 👍
